Laz and Friends
PREMIER OF A NEW GROUP AND NEW MATERIAL!

Laz Slomovits (of the duo Gemini) will present a variety of new music on spiritual themes. This will be the premier performance of these works, which will be released on two separate CDs later this year. One group of new songs focuses on Laz's musical settings of the poetry of Emily Dickinson — both some of the well-known poems as well as a number of lovely, relatively unknown ones. The second crop consists of new song-settings of the work of Rumi, the 13th-century Sufi mystic, whose poetry Laz first set to music in last year's acclaimed CD, "Give Light."

For this special concert, Laz will be joined by his wife, Helen, on flute and Celtic harp, Lori Fithian of Drummunity on percussion, and her brother, Eric Fithian, on guitar and bass. The four friends (and family) have played music together in various combinations of duos and trios for a number of years, but this is the band's first concert as a quartet.

Labor Day BBQ

We will be having a Labor Day BBQ before the concert from 6:00pm-8:00pm. BAR-B-Q chicken, ribs, and veggie kabobs provided with potluck side dishes for $10 per adult and teen.
